STOP Trips (Saturday Time Out for Parents) take place one Saturday a month and are socially, physically, educationally, and psychologically beneficial field trips.  Space is limited.

To attend you must RSVP on the designated reservation day. Cost has increased to $3/person with lunch provided. Please let us know if you have any financial difficulties.

NIGHTBIRD DANCES

 

Friday, March 20, 2009 - Luck of the Irish

irishThemed dances are held one Friday per month from 7-9pm at Eastmonte Park . Refreshments are provided.

Cost has increased to $2 per participant and $1 per companion/family member/guest.

Prizes awarded for dance contest winners, costume contest winners & birthdays! If you have a group home or a large party, please call in advance and we will reserve your group a table(s).


 

THURSDAY NIGHT OUT

 

Westmonte Park from 7-8:30pm
"Thursday Night Outs" are held on Thursday evenings, excluding the 1st Thursday of the month. They are designed to allow participants to get together and just have some fun! Events are held at Westmonte Park from 7-8:30pm. Cost: $1.00 with refreshments. Please

The Altamonte Sparklers are just months away from the end of another successful season.  

With 5 practices left, they are preparing for 2 competitions and 3 community events before their End of Season Sleep Over on April 25.

BOWLING

 

Every Monday excluding holidays

Practice is held every Monday, excluding holidays, from 3-5pm at the Altamonte AMF Lanes. Cost is $1.75/game, which includes shoe rental.
 
Scores are recorded throughout the year and trophies are awarded at the Banquet announcing each participant's high score.

TMOur Special Needs Belly Dancers & family members meet the 4th Wednesday of each month to exercise & prepare for performances at Westmonte Park from 6:30-7:30pm. Cost: $1.00/person.

adamIn February, the campers enjoyed many great field trips, including: Wonderworks, a tour of the Channel 6 News Station, fishing at Lake Lotus, and a tour of the Altamonte Springs Water Plant.

BAMBINO BUDDY BALL BASEBALL 

 

 For individuals ages 5-20

Registration for the newly formed Central Florida Bambino Buddy Ball baseball program for mentally and physically challenged players is now under way. 
 
There is no registration fee for the players, but by registering your child you are acknowledging your commitment to the program and to it's success.   The program is for players 5 years to 20 years and all games will be played on Saturdays at Eastmonte Park in Altamonte Springs

SPECIAL OLYMPICS NEWS

 

County Games on February 28 & More Sports Starting Soon 

Summer Sports County Games will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2009 at Lake Mary High School from 8:30am-noon. Feel free to come out and watch all the fun.

 

Golf is scheduled to begin in April.

Swimming is scheduled to begin in May.


Free year-round sports training and competition in over 12 different sports for athletes with intellectual disabilities, ages 8 and up.
